happy.

I've once again found myself back in Saskatchewan for the holidays, watching far too many hours of bad television, eating far too much chocolate, and sleeping a little more than I probably should.

I'm not sure what happened while I was packing (exhausted from craft sale mania, I think the focus was on ensuring that all gifts were packed, and little else), but I have the oddest collection of clothing here with me. I've been forced to get creative, and if it weren't for my Mom's excellent taste in vintage handbags, I'd be finishing my last-minute holiday shopping, rolling suitcase in tow. I also managed to forget my camera battery charger, hence the lack of a photo for this post.

We're heading out to Calgary tomorrow to visit my Brother and his family, but right now I'm sitting in front of a fire with my Mom, watching A Christmas Story. Incidentally, when I was in preschool, I managed to stick my tongue to a frozen railing, but that's a story for another time.

So, before I return to my favorite spot on the couch to watch one of my favorite holiday flicks, rum and eggnog in hand, here's hoping that you have a wonderful holiday.

Whatever your family traditions may be, I hope you find yourself surrounded by the people that you love, and I wish you all the best of everything for the new year.

snow day with dean martin

It's been snowing like crazy here, so I've spent basically the entire day in the living room with the records, getting some fabric cutting done and just kind of taking it easy.

I awoke with a sore throat, and although I think it isn't anything serious, I'm not taking any chances. I took this opportunity to give myself a snow day and rest up for this weekend's Rusty Plum sale, and the long journey home to Saskatchewan next Wednesday.

I've also been sewing up some new pillows for this weekend's sale - you can see them huddled together on the chair in the above photos. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and I hope that they get a good response at the sale. Hope to see you there!

drink it in

I've just added some new coaster sets to the shop.

All made with recycled fabrics and hand-printed/illustrated/sewn by moi, they're perfect for the festive cocktail hour.

crazy messy busy

Wow, did I ever drop the blogging ball. I can't even tell you how many times I sat down with the intention of writing something, only to be pulled away by some urgent printing/sewing/last-minute-whatever task.

I got back this afternoon from Ottawa, where I was a vendor at this year's Christmas edition of Tarts n' Crafts. What a fantastic and fun time! The vendors and volunteers were great, the venue was literally a block away from where I was staying, and as if that wasn't enough, THEY FED US. That just never happens, and I was blown away. I would do the sale again in a heartbeat, and hope to be at their next event in the spring.

While I was there, I had the opportunity to speak with Christina, who runs Workshop Studio and Boutique. What a lovely gal, and she makes lovely things too! I'm happy to say that the shop now carries a few of my things, so if you live in Ottawa, definitely check it out.

So yeah - I've been crazy, crazy, busy. This week is dedicated to replenishing my stock to sell at next weekend's Rusty Plum Holiday Bazaar. It hasn't been that well advertised, but for all of you locals, the Rusty Plum will be holding a sale at St. Michael's Church on St. Viateur each weekend leading up until Christmas! That means that from now until Christmas, you have four more opportunities to consume delicious perogies and beer while you shop for amazing, unique handmade goods. You just can't beat that.

The picture above was taken a few weeks ago, while busy mixing colours for some new designs. That's a sneak peek of one of the screens on the ground in the background. I'll be showing a few of my new prints next weekend, so definitely stop by to say hi and check it out.

Oh yeah, and buy me perogies and beer.

city of craft

Above is the illustration that I submitted to the City of Craft swag bag contest, and - hooray! I won!

They will be printing my design on cotton totes to give away to the first 100 people who enter the sale, you lucky ducks.

Because I live in Montreal, I don't think I'll be able to make it down, but if you're in the Toronto area, you should definitely stop by. The list of vendors looks amazing!

The little etsy shop that could - coucou salut - made the front page of etsy this morning. Those are my little Pin Light cushion covers there in the upper-left corner.

In honor of this momentous event, I would like to offer readers of this blog FREE SHIPPING on any of my pillows, excluding sale items! Yay! Just state the code NOEFP when you check out. Offer available until Sunday, November 22nd, enjoy!

A shout out and big thanks to The Screaming Needle for creating this beautiful treasury!

Mary & Max

I've just discovered the trailer for Mary & Max, the new movie by Adam Elliot, of Harvie Krumpet fame.

I'm a huge fan of Harvie Krumpet, and absolutely cannot wait to see his next movie.

His characters are just so amazing and earnest, and I'm positive that it will make me cry against my will - always the sign of a good movie.
